MyClub Roadside produces ‘substantial funds’
for Clifton RFC

Unique sports tech company MyClubGroup ( has announced the launch of MyClub Roadside, designed to create a revenue stream for sports clubs.

MyClub Group is the support network for grassroots sport, delivering customised money-generating online services to a wide range of clubs and organisations, offering an affiliate solution to over 100,000-plus sports clubs throughout the UK.

The Caterham-based company recently launched MyClub Roadside, which provides a complete package to help clubs install Roadside Advertising Jumbo Screens, which have the capability to generate guaranteed revenues for clubs.

Clifton Rugby Club, who play in the National League 2 South, have trialled MyClub Roadside for the past six months – and the results produced by their new 48-sheet digital screens have been well above expectations, netting substantial funds for the Club.

The screens, supplied by Elonex in partnership with MyClub Group, are the modern digital version of an advertising billboard, comprising dynamically-changing adverts and full-colour animation. The first of these Roadside Jumbo Screens is visible from the passing main road into Bristol, where Clifton RFC is based.


Clifton RFC Secretary, Pete Mitchel, said: “This is so much more than we had anticipated when we agreed to the project. It is on course to be our biggest source of commercial income throughout the year and on a long-term basis. For a club like ours, committed to the costs of National League rugby, this is a very significant contribution.”

Clubs who sign up and successfully install MyClub Roadside will receive a minimum guaranteed advertising revenue each year, along with quarterly payments to help cash-flow, plus the ability to advertise events, upcoming matches and the club’s facilities.

MyClub Group’s experts take care of all the planning costs, planning application, installation of the Jumbo Screen and advertising software, frame fabrication and screen fitting, all groundworks including cosmetic finishing, and training for the simple-to-use advertising software.

Dependent upon a successful planning application process, installing a Roadside Advertising Jumbo Screen with MyClub Roadside takes between approximately 16-24 weeks from start to finish and Clifton RFC insist the process is a smooth one.


Mitchell added: “I have been really impressed by the support we have received in getting planning arranged and all the other work that has gone into making this a success.”


Mike Turner, Sales Development Director for MyClub Group, confirmed that this installation will be one of many in the coming years.
